With the sun shining in London, Friday 9th May was the perfect day to graduate.

For Year 13, graduation formally marks the end of their studies here at Guildhouse School. Smartly dressed, excited students flooded into the school and with caps and gowns secured, they were ready for their special occasion.
Our students set off together to meet family and friends at this year’s graduation location, the LSE Cheng Kin Ku Building. The lecture hall was filled with proud family and friends, celebrating the hard work and commitment our graduating class put into their studies.
During the ceremony, heartfelt speeches were given to our graduating students, leaving them with words of advice to take forward. Gareth Taylor, Senior Deputy Head, encouraged students to “live today with main character energy”, which many students took in with a smile.
Kim Tapsell, Pastoral Director Y13 and Art Teacher, Heaven, President of Student Council and Joshua, Vice President of Student Council all gave inspiring speeches, encouraging students on their onward journeys.

The hall was filled with loud cheers, as each student crossed the graduation stage to receive their certificate. Although this ceremony marks the end of their time here at Guildhouse School, many students will be continuing their education at top UK universities, in a wide variety of subjects.
To end the ceremony, Jamie Forbes, Deputy Head, presented awards meaning a handful of students crossed the stage for the second time full of warmth and pride.
This year, the Headteacher Award was renamed in memory of a past student who is sadly no longer with us. The Richmond Okerekeamara Headteacher Award, presented by Gareth Taylor, represents every value the remarkable Richmond held, an honour to those awarded it.

Students then headed towards Temple Pier for their end of year party, held on a boat on the Thames. Enjoying lovely sunshine, the boat set off, marking the end of Year 13s time here at Guildhouse School, but the start of many new adventures to come.
In the words of Gareth Taylor in his closing graduation speech, “Once your part of Guildhouse School, you are always part of Guildhouse School”.
Congratulations to our graduating students. We wish you every success in your
future endeavours.
