Our innovative Key Professions Programme (KPP) offers a range of targeted support, advice, guidance and extra-curricular activities to set you on the path to a successful career. We’ll help you research your career, plan your route and develop the skills to achieve it. Choosing the ideal combination of subjects in your academic qualifications is perhaps the most important first step in preparing for university and also your chosen career. That’s why we offer discipline-specific guidance, which you can read more about on the following pages.
In today’s highly competitive environment, Britain’s top universities of Oxford and Cambridge (collectively referred to as Oxbridge) are seeking academically successful candidates who stand out from the rest and can effectively demonstrate the passion for their subject.

With Architecture, you can take either an Engineering or Design route. If you choose an Engineering route, you will look at designing processes and making products to solve real-world problems, such as the building of bridges or sustainable homes. Consider a combination of Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and Psychology. If you choose an Art route, you will look at the design and function of structures. Your portfolio will be essential as part of your university application process. Our recommendation is Art, Physics and Mathematics.
